This is my latest novel.
Maisy Malone is seventeen and has started a blog. She’s just dropped out of sixth form and has reason to be seriously fed up. Her borderline alcoholic Dad spends his days stagnating in his armchair, watching re-runs of Bargain Hunt, shouting abuse at their neurotic dog, Dave, or nursing his pint down at the Pride. Her mum fled the place years ago, on the back of a clapped-out old bike, and is now planning the wedding of year, to a man so damp he could grow his own crop of mushrooms. Even her mates are distracted these days, Poppy is to be found rattling out her vampire love story (Miss Stake) and Jess is too busy obsessing over the latest bad boy to cross her path.
In all honesty, Maisy isn’t looking for much in life. Some support, a job, a boyfriend and a bit of cash would be nice for Dave’s mounting vet bills. It’s just not easy to keep yourself motivated, when you have no prospects and hair that would look better on a horse. So Maisy begins to open up at the world in a very public no holds barred blog
Relationships develop with followers who leave comments including; the sweet and positive ‘Lucy Locket’, the radical socialist ‘Glenn’ and the mysterious and flirtatious ‘007’. Just who is he, and how does he know so much about her?
It’s a crazy few months, as Maisy finds herself caught up in riots and raids, temping assignments from hell and a reunion with her errant older brother, known as the ‘arsehole’. Just what secret is he keeping?
